Dear all,

This year has been absolutely amazing. So many great things have come from this blog and it opened windows to a whole world out there I never knew existed. As you may have noticed i've been away for a while and posts have dwindled because I've been living and working, some say just working and not living. But after summer i think i'm going to be concentrating more on the design side of my brain than the fashion...so i'm afraid to say i'm going to be less active around this part of town.

To clarify, I am not putting Cocotali to bed, however she is having a little nap. So please pop back, I'll still update you all on the goings on in my world but for now I think i'll leave it at not a goodbye, but a see you soon. Thank you everyone who followed, commented, or contacted me over the year. I've met some great people and I hope to meet many more when I return. Be back soon.

I was invited to the Lee Klabin showroom the other day by the lovely Desiree. It was beautiful full stop.

To start the story, Lee Klabin is an emerging fashion designer for women who previously founded Blue Poppy Couture, but has now moved onto the art of 'corsetry'. She is mainly inspired by the female form and you can see this definitely translating through her pieces. I call them 'pieces' as they are more like works of art than just dresses on a hanger. An important feature to notice is the continuous flow of boning running along the lines of the female curves, when trying on a dress I found that it completely reinvented my figure, and not in a bad way. I think lady gaga was mentioned a few times...

And don't be put off by the term 'corsetry', despite my spell checker telling me its not a real word, the pieces were so comfortable. Unlike in a bra where they use wire for support, here they use boning which looks like clear strips of plastic. Her 'Ready to wear' pieces are all zipped and easy to get in and out of in a few seconds...as demonstrated by me when my top completely fell off in front of Ceri and Desiree.

This collection showed a bizarre mix of Scottish tweed and leather... which worked great.

-The garments are made in the room next door...literally a few steps away.

I remember watching Chris Rock in Bigger and Blacker. Amazing man.

He quoted, 'Women need food, water, and compliments. That's right. And an occasional pair of shoes.'

Why!? Why when I put my Wisteria wedges on ebay in a desperate attempt to earn some money for my rent do I end up watching two other shoes? It completely defeats the point of selling them in the first place! Basically I'm just swapping them. I doubt anyone will snap them up, I put them on for £70 because I do love them and I'd be sad to lose them and not have a reasonable amount of money to put towards rent. So if any of you want my Topshop Wisteria Wedges, size 5, great condition, only worn a few times, and for £70, go for it here. And if no one does...I'll get to keep them:) Its bitter sweet really I'm not sure which outcome I prefer.

But my question to you is what is it about shoes? Why does my face scrunch up at a £7 price tag for a top in a charity shop, and yet I'm more than willing to pay more than the original price for a pair of boots on ebay? What is it with women and shoes? Or is it ebay? Is it the longevity of shoes? Or is it our desire to be higher and therefore closer to the gods. I haven't got a foggy. All I know is I'm loving this pear juice.

Mum and I were pretty trigger happy in Nonsuch park today with coco. I've found my blog has stopped being very 'fashion conscious', I felt myself typing 'fashiony' for lack of a better word, but to me they mean the same. Its become more of a visual diary. Somewhere to post what I'm doing and my new experiments with RayBan. I would definitely recommend the Canon 1000d, AKA my Rayban, for those of you looking for an affordable slr.

Wearing nothing special because the heat is just ridiculous. I cannot wait for autumn, I even have my eyes on a coat from H&M that'll be out around then.

Usually I just mix and match gold and silver as I find the decision between the two unnecessary, they look fine together. Playing with Ray Ban (the new cam)

Its weird going from behind the camera to back in front again. I like the control you have when you're the 'photographer', and I use that term loosely as I'm still in no mans land with all its settings. I'm currently teaching mum how to manually focus, which is proving surprising successful considering she wears glasses...and not to take photos. But she's doing pretty well. My friends will be happy to know I need lots more practice and hopefully they'll be my little models.

You can literally tell when the sun pops around the clouds in these photos. Standard English weather for you.

Well tomorrow I am going home for the day to see the fam and also to see Renzo Pianos opening of one of his new buildings. Is it bad I dont even know what its called or where it is? Most probably. But I've had a massive architecture overload for the first time ever and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I want a rest! I've got to stop ripping apart the hopeful dreams of the girls and boys wanting to do Architecture by making it sound so scary (sorry Roisin lol hope I helped tho)Maybe some of you even tune in for a weekly architecture whine. Whatever the reason I dont care, atleast you've come!

Other than that Ive got an exhibition to work for, then off to Turkey for our girly holiday away. Its the first time i've been away with most of them so it'll be great!

I removed Siena Fleming because I realised she was advertising fur. Not only this but she justified it with ' it was already in the shop its not like I made them kill it', or something similar, don't quote me on that. Also I realised her weight was a slight issue and I didn't notice it when I put it up. I don't want to be promoting this type of figure and I think it's a huge issue which isn't helped by fashion blogs in the slightest. It's a shame, but despite all this I do still think her pieces are timeless and therefore a great fashion backdrop to your wardrobe.

Sorry for the lack of posts too. It's coming to the end of the year and I'm working hard.

Its not even like I'm working loads!!!!! So I have no excuse for my laziness. Maybe its my diet? Has not eating meet for the last 5 years suddenly caught up with me!? Oh dear lord. nah

These days I get so tired I cant even be bothered to work. Last night I found myself going to bed at 8 because I couldn't work and if I cant work 'I may as well go to sleep'. How sad. Didnt even get to bed till 12. Anyways. Didn't go to the casting of Frock off in nottingham for t4 because I was too busy 'not working', even though they offered to meet me tomorrow as well. Because I suck and I'm too worried that filming time may cut into 'precious work time'. Boo frickin hoo.

This was taken in my garden a few days back. Dom and I were chilling for a bit in the garden just because the weather now allows it. Evidently I spoke to soon as now it's FREEZING.

Wearing underwear as...underwear. Do love underwear as outerwear though. Want to do a post on stockings, and how to tone them down. Way down. Parental down. That's down down.

Found this 90's jumper thing in my wardrobe the other day. Thought I could cut the ugly elasticated bottom and wallah, I look like I'm from Saved by the Bell. Something I'll be wearing alot over the summer, hey I'm even wearing it now.

The title of this post came about when Dom tore a piece off the orange sainsburys bag and used it as a colour filter on the flash, hence why everything's a better shade of orange:)

Pick n Mix

Finally I'm back!!! It actually came at a pretty good time. This week I went back to uni a week early to get some work done...and now I'm going home for the weekend before the worst month of my life begins. Seriously. A levels will be nothing in comparison...but I hope I'm wrong.

These photos are just here and there of Surrey, London and Nottingham with either mum or Dom. Oh and I finally got my hair cut which is something to note. Its quite a bit shorter for me but its still long for the average length of hair.I have to say it was getting ridiculous. Whenever I put my hair into a 'birdsnest' bun, it literally gave me a headache! So it had to go.

On the way to new malden for some charity shopping.

For those who have me on twitter you'll know why my blog looks like one massive Photobucket advertisement. However for the others who read/view/ seek general amusement from my blog, don't worry everything will be up and running on the 1st.

Basically I have uploaded more than 10mb this month so photobucket has taken them off to make me upload to 'pro'...which costs....and i refuse to! So instead all I have to do is wait till the 1st and the 10mb will reset and everything will be back to normal. But when it does I'll be bombarding it with a weeks worth of photos.

Or an alternative explanation which i prefer but is also fictional...

Welcome my new Ring from LuShae!!! It's actually much brighter than I had imagined and I love it. I'd recommend checking out their ring section it has some really interesting pieces. My second favourite was this Elephant ring here because of the thickness of the band and its originality. Today mum and I went to Ikea, bought two lamps for £2.99 and bulbs which cost the same amount!! Don't know the real reason for the exclamation marks. I can't decided between the bulbs being so expensive or the lamps so cheap. It doesn't matter on a fashion blog really does it.

I wanted to wear my knee high boots today but it just disagreed with the blazer so I'm waiting for a night out to wear them with a slim dress. Lovely. I love that in the shot of my face and my hand shading me from the sun you can see my dog faintly in the background:) My mum just bought a blazer like this but in red. Its gorgeous! Only £5.99. Even better.

The secret behind these great looks i must say is...simplicity. Nicks only wearing a striped tshirt and Blake looks like hes off to school but each one of them have a specific detail which makes them stand out. Adam has the scarf, Nick has the hair, Unyimi has the boots, Blake has the shoes, Andreas has the jacket, and Adam the hat.

One week till my Easter holiday and I'm supposed to be getting back to work. I'm already in holiday mode so every morning I wake up around 10, watch a few things, check my emails, reply to a few threads then get out of bed around 12 to then lounge around the house like a socially inept rat with rags on her shoulders and bags under her eyes. I need to go home!

I'm going to blame it on the weather. The skies have turned grey and the 'pitter patter' of rain on my window is quite the opposite of inspiring. But I hope to wear this once I'm up and about once again as well as a floor length black and white striped dress I got from H&M. I'm very impressed with H&M at the moment, quite possibly doing more for me than Topshop (Shock horror) so check it out. They're new colourful range (I'm not sure of the name) is really inspiring for the summer. Nothing is over £30 and dresses come to around £13 or £20 max.

Another little number I'm considering taking on holiday with me to Turkey this summer:) They had it in pink and blue but I thought this was more different, less 'Topshop looking'. Im not a 'pretty pretty' sorta girl so I darkened this ensemble with a black studded belt I found on the floor(yes, literally on the way home from a lecture), a charity shop lion belt and my birthday boots. Hope you're all well:)

This weeks feature is on Aleisha from www.norockwithoutplastic.blogspot.com. These photos especially are my favourite. The punk inspired outfits are sexy, dark, and remind me of 'thecobrasnake' which is never a bad thing in my eyes.

What I love: Red lips, oversized black hat, artistic direction of shot with graffiti background, knee high boots and pink tips. Plus she's Australian:) My current facebook status is all about Australian street style lovin.

Just a Note

Hey guys and gals, just a note to you all to say I am not dead and I will be posting soon. I'm working for an interim at the moment so haven't had a spare second to myself yet. But I wanted to let you know about a few new things that'll hopefully be happening on Cocotali shortly.

Firstly I want to start featuring some of my fellow bloggers out there, you guys, so to get involved just post a link to your blog in the comments section of this post and i'll pick from those, as well as my hidden stash of blogs which I follow myself:)

Secondly I'm going to feature male models to inspire the guys out there too, as I have been focusing mainly on women since the start, and lets face it, Topman is falling asleep a little with its new lines.

Any more tips or improvements to this blog would be welcome. Even constructive criticism:)

Well I cant take the shoes back now....

Love how you can wear these as a shoe or a boot, just with the addition of some socks. I am definitely enjoying the sun now its come out. I can see hat and glasses combos whilst riding my bike to uni. However I am pretty loaded with work at the moment as I've now been advised to freeze water in my design to walk on, to then melt it when ever needed to allow boats to sail through. A frozen market? OR my buildings skeletal structure will excrete Sodium Acetate which will freeze within seconds upon disturbance, and solidify onto a skeletal mesh which will form a canopy. Rain or water will then melt it away when not needed. But you didn't need to know that.:S Wish me luck.

It's all about the Weirdness

Woke up bright and early to go to Homebase in search of a melting iron, as the last one I ordered got lost in ebay mail space. I felt pretty pathetic purchasing such hardcore tools when 'I'm only lickle', at one point I came close to getting a butane blow torch...glad I didn't. So instead I bought melting iron to melt metals and plastics for a concept model. I wasn't sure where I was heading to begin with but as the acetate fused with the perspex, the fumes got to me and I ended up with this crazy looking thing. A little later I then stuck on wire to give it a little structure so it could at least pretend to mimic an actual building.

Not crazy about the outfit but it went well with the hat. I normally pick one thing I want to wear, even an accessory, and dress around it. £5 from a Charity shop. Do not diss the Charity shop.

Oh and thank you me lovelies for the recent blog awards. I'm not too sure on the rules yet but I'll sort myself out regarding forwarding them soon:)

Back on Home Land to my Velvet Cubbie

I went to Istanbul for a site visit last Thursday and just got back yesterday. It felt like forever. If it weren't for 'sticky fingers' on the trams, lack of vegetarian food, overcharging cab drivers and freezing weather I would of loved it... And then I lose my sketch book in St Pancras. Great times. But nonetheless at least I'm in England, home, and able to eat whatever I like. I felt like one more week there and I would of considered eating fish, heaven forbid. Now I feel like I'm spoilt for choice! Never again will I complain bout having nothing to eat.

Love this cardi. Thought it was pretty interesting at London Fashion Weekend when I picked it up, rotated it 360 degrees and still had no idea how it worked. Fortunately a woman quickly came to my aid and apparently you can leave it hanging or throw it over your head as a hood. Sounds very AA to me. Only £10!

Wonderland Editorial

With the close release of Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton, this beautiful editorial in Vogue encapsulates the innocent, yet twisted threads which I cannot wait to see put on film. It's nowhere near a surprise that Johnny Depp steals the Mad Hatter role, I can honestly say I could see no one else do the job better. I just hope this 'Alice In Wonderland on Drugs' edition lives up to expectations. It probably will.

Ah forgot to say this completely reminds me of when I played the role of the Queen of Hearts in Primary school. I remember practising 'Off with her head' in a pitch unknown to man when everyone was asleep.

The shoot was done by Annie Leibovitx with Natalia Vodianova. Beautiful.

The Mess of Unit 2

Finally, here is the 1:1 model of our light installation... which started as a furniture brief. Oh well:P

We would of liked it to be bigger and wider but due to insufficient funds (wire alone costing more than £30) we were unable to do so. But I think you get the gist. I remember one 12 hour studio day where I consumed two chocolate bars, a packet of crisps, a diet Pepsi, a Chinese take away and some sweets to get me through it. Its amazing how the Chinese delivery man knew exactly where I was despite me just saying 'I'm in Studio'. But despite the drama, it was fun. Cones were everywhere, James was flying off the steel beams, Tom was on the phone sorting 'business' whilst holding a 30 pound cone structure in the air while I was 'stapling the f***' out of everything. New saying of the day: 'If its not working or if it starts to tear, staple the f*** out of it'

Second and Third Year Crits at the AA

American apparel? Alcoholics Anon? That breakdown service? No. The Architectural Association. Basically my tutor also crits at the AA, and invited a few of us to sit in on second and third year crits. It was a good day. My head was filled with the questions, 'How do I make a record out of ice? How could I get the building to knit its own facade? What do magic mushrooms feel like and can taking them be considered research if your buildings mesh is designed to grow them? ....Yeah, exactly. And those are just the bits I understood!

I'm also going for a more professional look here with these photos. Which do you prefer I'm not sure which direction to go.

Went for drinks at Bar Haha by the river in Kingston last night. I felt young again. We weren't allowed to the bar as we weren't 21! It didn't matter anyway, they just ate as we talked about Mels new attitude to life and random facebook gossip :) Home bound for the next few days as I have a tiny break before the next project. Livin' it up Surrey style for now....that means doing nothing.

A range of addictive 'boyfriend' necklaces for you to look at while I pay off my debt before any other 'decent' outfit posts.

Aren't they amazing! They came my way from the lovely Patricia from www.patricianicolaslondon.blogspot.com, a British Jewellery and Graphic designer. As she states on her blog they've come at a perfect time, just before Valentines. At £100 a boyfriend they're far less expensive than a real man and would never judge you by your appearance in the morning. (Cheeky)

Any slim lengthy chain with a pendant that you can choose from to best fit your personality will win me over any day! My personal favourite is 'Mister Mummy's Boy'. It was either this or 'Mr Confused' but I opted for less decoration but a description closer to home.

Nipple Piercings and the Accepted Nude Form

Beautiful video, just thought I'd share. Oh and how on earth has nipple piercings made showing your breasts socially acceptable? Ask anyone with a nipple piercing to let you see it in public and it'll be whipped out quicker than the swollen breast of recent mother with a crying baby.

This is totally normal behaviour. In fact, we'd be offended if they didn't. Ask anyone else in a coffee shop...and you would not be so lucky.

Some of the most beautiful images I've personally come across are partially nude, but I don't dare post them on here, Mr Photobucket wouldn't approve. Prude.

'But they're art!' I screamed at the computer when Photobucket removed a nude drawing of mine from an old post . It's art! Well to me anyways. But where does art stop pleasing and start offending? How can you differentiate between the two. How do you do it Mr Photobucket?

Note to all: I am not against nipple piercings. I appreciate nude art (I do life drawing for petes sake). I LOVE Abbey Lee. :)

Studio, Cones, Chinese, Ice Cream

After a long day of studio and drawing my boyfriend and I met for a Chinese before parting to do more work. I'm making more cones again, except they're bigger and we're joining them so they crawl along the wall and hang off the ceiling. I'll post it when I'm done it'll be easier than trying to explain. I also posted a drawing that I'm getting stuck into. I love that it makes no sense... because it doesn't have to. Its a concept image taken from the black board in the background. It's to represent the flow of people around Jubilee Park in Canary Wharf...but you already knew that...

Caroline has her First Hangover

Quite possibly one of the best nights ever. Everyone's walking around the house laughing at different photos in different rooms. Lyndsay doesn't remember a thing after falling asleep in Ocean, while I'm just bed bound. And the best part, we didn't buy a single drink all night.

The Calm Before the not so Calm

Caroline just came into my room and reminded me of the fact I haven't been out all term. I am yet to venture outside my house this WHOLE term. We can blame insufficient funds, work load and the desire to go to the Bartlett for this sad tale but I wouldn't have it any other way. My name is Natalie Gall and I am a Workaholic.

Tomorrow is a friends birthday so we're going to CocoTang. Mini Mexican wave in my head for me. If you haven't heard of it it's a lovely underground cocktail bar where the drinks are a little too much, as are the bar staff. No really I do like it there. But seriously, no barman should drink from the same straw he is serving you. Especially if its your drink....

I promise I'll post after Coco. But for now here are a few bits and bobs from around my room.

My make up table, covered in nail polish I never use, make up I never wear and books I never make time to read...oh and a projector. I've recently started life drawing too hence the nude figure

Wishing for Spring

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of being sick and tired of the cold now. While I browse the blogging world I see post after post of sea fronts and cool outfits on warm LA streets, while the british bloggers either underdress and freeze in the cold, or continue to model the same coats over and over again...I am the latter. I can't wait for Spring which actually has me quite shocked this year. Usually I anticipate the winter and all its layers but now I think I've had enough. I want to wear sandals, I want to wear 'short shorts' without tight tights, I want to wear cropped tee's!!! This one was a DIY project for a quiet Sunday at home. Both layers are tops from Primark I bought when I was in 6th form. I chopped the ends off both and wallah.

The rest of the photos are just shots around my room and old art work from A level.
